Digital - dummy advertising

 For an exercise in the class, we had to form groups of 2 and draw a card that contained an object or an animal and find a way to use it to advertise for a company of our choice. 
To complicate the matter we had to deviate as much as possible from the initial image while maintaining a link. 
Our group has taken a card with a camel. 
After reflection we started on the fact that a camel is a means of transport in the desert. 
As we often take the bus (company DeLijn) we thought "DeLijn takes you everywhere also in the desert."
For aesthetic reasons we have shortened it to "DeLijn takes you to the desert."
The work has to be done in Adobe Illustrator.

This is the first part of the second step of my first work

We had to search for a film or theatre affiche with Colors and atmosfeer we liked.

I thought we had to use these in our collage but I was wrong and you will see why in the future updates.

I had trouble to choose witch version of the poster to use thus, I started with two of them to see the results and choose later.

I’m following a Digital Design course.

For now, we are learning Adobe Illustrator

This is the first step of my first work.

We had to start from an autoportrait. We must cut it in piece and arrange them in an abstract collage. Then we had to re draw that collage in adobe illustrator

For the autoportrait, I started from a drawing I made

Then you see the collage, the tracing of the pieces and the colouring of the pieces

With the leaves, the shadows and reflection on the support (below the vast and the flower), I call this done

What have I learn. Again the use of the gradient mesh and the use of the opacity mask.

Use of Gradient Mesh to color a form with some detailled color variations.

It’s not easy at the beginning but it’s worth the effort of understand how this works.

What have I learned ?

Create a 3D looking object based on a line and use of the “3D revolution” option of Illustrator.

Automatically repeat and arrange a form (the round dots)

Apply a flat form (the dots repetition) on a 3D looking object (the round dots are deformed according to the surface of the vase).

Sketch - Fantasy Creature 004

Another Fantasy Creature sketch.

The croafly (“croa” from the sound of a frog, “fly” wel... because it can fly) is a air-water-earth amphibian.

He has webbed hands and fins to move in the water and cupping feet to walk on wet ground. Its bat wings also allow it to fly. It is an omnivore whose beak is used to search the earth or mud at the bottom of the water to find food.
